Late Morning: Drive to the ancient village of Andro, located approximately 25 km east of Imphal. The journey offers a scenic transition from the city to the countryside.
Afternoon: Check into your local homestay or guesthouse in Andro. After a traditional Manipuri lunch, begin your cultural exploration.
Evening: Visit the Mutua Museum & Andro Cultural Complex. This complex provides a comprehensive look at the diverse tribes of Manipur through its collection of artifacts, pottery, and doll exhibits. You'll learn about the unique traditions and history of the region.
Night: Settle in for a comfortable overnight stay in Andro, where you can enjoy the tranquility of village life.
Day 2: Trek, Traditional Crafts & Treats
Morning: After a traditional breakfast, embark on a morning trek. Your destination will be a nearby hill or a scenic viewpoint like Khalong Peak, which offers panoramic views of the valley. This is your "trek" for the trip.
Afternoon: Return from your trek and participate in a hands-on activity. Andro is famous for its pottery, and you'll get a chance to observe or even try your hand at the traditional craft of pottery making, a unique cultural "treat."
Late Afternoon: Visit the sacred shrine of Panam Ningthou Meibibirol and learn about the local fire-worshipping rituals.
Evening: Enjoy a special "treat" dinner featuring traditional Manipuri cuisine. You might also get a chance to taste local rice wine ("Yu"). Share stories with your hosts around a bonfire (weather permitting).
Night: Overnight stay in Andro.
Day 3: Imphal City Sights & Departure
Morning: After a final breakfast in Andro, check out and drive back to Imphal.
Late Morning: Upon arrival in Imphal, visit Kangla Fort, a historical and archaeological site that was once the seat of the Meitei rulers. Walk through its grounds and see the ancient temples.
Afternoon: Visit the famous Ima Keithel (Mother's Market), a unique market run entirely by women, where you can buy traditional handicrafts and souvenirs.
Late Afternoon: Depending on your flight time, you might have a quick stop at the INA War Memorial to pay your respects.
